Restoration

The house has been restored as sustainably as possible within the context of preserving a listed building of historic value. Original furniture from the house has been re-used, and second-hand and antique pieces have been incorporated into the design, along with recycled demolition items (except for beds and mattresses which are all brand new and chosen for their sustainability credentials). All of the floor tiles in the Regency wing of the house are reclaimed antique tiles from Maitland & Poate, and the majority of the wall tiles are either from local, Wiltshire-based tile companies, Marlborough Tiles and Artisans of Devizes, or from recycled materials, like the Claybrook recycled glass mosaic. Timber from demolition has been recycled by a local recycling firm.
